Laminate faced birch plywood core worktops

Our Baltic Birch plywood has no core gaps. It is constructed to EN 636 Class 3, suitable for exterior conditions, designed to withstand sustained periods of weather and moisture without structural failure. Not a bad starting point for a kitchen worktop.

Worktops

You choose which laminate manufacturer to have for your protective top, Formica, Fenix or  Laminate and Ply. All the laminate sheets meet the requirements of EN438-2 in terms of heat, scratch, and stain resistance.

30mm thick ply for the core of the worktop, plus laminate gives an overall thickness of 32mm. Please note, if you plan to join worktops, undermount bolts need a minimum of 28mm so thinner worktops are a problem for the fitter. Other thicknesses can be supplied, please enquire.

The laminate is made 1300mm wide, which is why we sell the worktops in pairs as it costs the same to make a pair as it does to make 1.

The exposed ply edges need sealing to prevent dirt ingress and staining of the plywood. We recommend Osmo products for that purpose. On our support page you will find a short how to video to fully explain what to do.
